This flag, and its peculiar design (2:2,5), is an historic banner. First flown in the early years of the Norsemen settling, it is believed to be made of two capes, sewn together. The green field with white oak leaves and branches, represents the house of Odin - house of the Ragnarsson family - and its bondage to mother earth and nature. The blood-red right field has a pictographic representation of an mountain goat - symbol of the Einarsson's branch and of the house of Loki. The combination of these two houses - Odin, representing life - and Loki, representing death - dwells with one of the most important quest of Hjemeland's society: The life and death's dilemae.
